Let’s first take a look at Frost & Sullivan’s stock-take that forms part of its write-up for the Company of the Year 2019 award in the Global RFID solutions market. The consulting firm assumes that many industries leverage technology to optimize process flows and increase sales. By adding a digital intelligence to products, RFID and NFC qualify as key technologies that deserve a closer look. Consequently, so do companies that offer RFID and NFC based solutions.

Smartrac is the Leader

Looking at Smartrac, Frost & Sullivan affirms that the RFID and IoT pacesetter has “the best strategy for successful market growth and to hold the leadership position in the RFID industry.” In their write-up, Frost & Sullivan lauds Smartrac as the product digitization leader committed to customer value excellence. They also emphasize the importance of the company’s Smart Cosmos® solutions platform, with one focus on retail industry needs, for “setting new digital standards through consumer experience innovation.”

According to Frost & Sullivan, this was underlined by recent milestones in Smartrac's corporate history such as the successful customer collaboration and its related launch of the Telstar 18 – adidas’ NFC-enabled 2018 FIFA World Cup ball – and the strategic partnership with the Alibaba Group, which is geared to strengthen brand protection strategies.

A Series of Awards

This year’s award is in line with two awards from last years, honoring Smart Cosmos as Consumer Experience Innovation and Smartrac as European Company of the Year for its RFID technology solutions.

“As recognized by Frost & Sullivan, the retail market is one large contributor to RFID growth, and with our focus on solutions for branded product manufacturers and retailers, we feel particularly reassured and encouraged by this award. We will leverage that impetus to provide all our customers worldwide and across all industries with additional best-in-class solutions for enhanced customer experience and brand protection solutions,” said Christian Uhl, CEO at Smartrac.

Excellent Growth, Innovation and Leadership

To receive the Frost & Sullivan Company of the Year Award requires a company to demonstrate excellence in growth, innovation, and leadership. This kind of excellence typically translates into superior performance in demand generation, brand development and competitive positioning. These areas serve as the foundation of a company’s future success and prepare it to deliver on two main criteria: visionary innovation, and performance and customer impact.
