SMARTRAC is now offering an increased portfolio of RAIN RFID (UHF) inlays and tags that feature high memory capacity even in small form factors, opening up a whole new range of applications across many different industry sectors.

 

SMARTRAC has enhanced a wide range of its highly successful RAIN RFID (UHF) inlays and tags by adding increased memory capacity. Small form factor products like GRILLE and FLY, as well as all DOGBONE, BELT and MINIWEB tags are now available with new, high-memory ICs from the NXP UCODE family. These tags are designed for automotive, global supply chain, industrial, pharmaceutical, product authentication, brand protection and healthcare applications, and offer excellent performance in demanding environments and on different materials.


Big… Bigger… Biggest

 

In simple terms, SMARTRAC can now offer products in all sizes with high performance and greater memory capacity. The latest additions to SMARTRAC’s product portfolio are the SMARTRAC FLY and GRILLE inlays and tags.

FLY’s form factor is only 12x12mm, making it smaller than many industrial-grade 2-D barcodes, but capable of storing more information and being able to deliver the information more reliably with superior orientation insensitivity. FLY has been optimized for light and medium loads. It’s the smallest tag with the largest memory.

 

The GRILLE product is sized at 22x22mm and offers excellent performance at light and medium loads, and features an optimized form factor for tagging small items in industrial environments.

 

SMARTRAC’s market-leading MINIWEB, BELT and DOGBONE tags offered with the NXP high-memory ICs have been designed to meet the most demanding industrial environments while offering best-in-class performance for their size.

 

All of these products can be equipped with the latest NXP UCODE designs, like the UCODE 7XM and UCODE 7XM+ with extended memory, supporting 2 Kbits of user memory and 448 bits of EPC memory. All the chips offer unique TID and enable pre-serialized EPC, parallel encoding and a product status flag. The Ucode7XM+ has an additional 384-bit digital signature.

 

They can also be supplied with UCODE DNA, the world’s first UHF IC to combine long-range read performance with cryptographic authentication, and offering 3 Kbits of user memory and 224 bits of EPC memory. UCODE DNA’s high security and cryptographic authentication will no doubt find many applications in such areas as healthcare and the pharmaceutical industry. 

 

The combination of SMARTRAC’s powerful inlays and tags with NXP’s state-of-the-art ICs make these products ready to serve the demanding needs of enabling the Industrial Internet (Industry 4.0).
