SMARTRAC expands leading position: production of RFID components in February 2007 exceeds eleven million units

In February 2007, for the first time SMARTRAC produced more than eleven million RFID inlays for contactless data transmission in the high-frequency range in a single month. “In the shortest month of the year we set a new record,” said Manfred Rietzler, CEO of SMARTRAC. “We will continue this growth and surpass the twelve-million mark in the production of high-frequency inlays in March.”

SMARTRAC N.V. announces preliminary financial figures: Forecast for financial year 2006 exceeded

SMARTRAC N.V., the world’s leading supplier of high-quality RFID inlays for contactless data transmission, today announced its preliminary figures for the fiscal year of 2006. In the period under review, the group’s total sales reached €52.5 million, thus more than doubling the sales of €25.2 million from the previous year.

SMARTRAC Technology Ltd., Thailand, a subsidiary of SMARTRAC N.V., Amsterdam, and Silone MagCard, Inc. California, have settled their dispute regarding the use of SMARTRAC’s patents in the production of RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) components.

SMARTRAC N.V. acquires a 25 percent stake in Multitape GmbH

SMARTRAC N.V., of Amsterdam, the Netherlands, has acquired 25 percent of the shares in Multitape GmbH, which is domiciled in Salzkotten, Germany. The parties to the transaction have agreed not to divulge any details of the price paid. The two companies intend to cooperate more intensively on the production of RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) components in the future.

Stephan Öri appointed new Head of Corporate Communications and Investor Relations

Stephan Öri (45) has been appointed as new Head of Corporate Communications and Investor Relations at SMARTRAC N.V. He reports directly to Dr. Christian Fischer, Chief Financial Officer of SMARTRAC. Stephan Öri worked from 1995 until 2006 in various positions in the internal and external corporate communications departments of DaimlerChrysler AG, most recently as Head of Technology and Environmental Communications.

SMARTRAC N.V. and Assa Abloy AB clarify open issues concerning patent use and ownership

SMARTRAC N.V. and the Swedish group Assa Abloy AB have amicably clarified and settled all the issues that were previously open between the two companies in an agreement dated 29 December 2006. The dispute primarily involved use of certain patents related to the production of radio frequency identification devices using wire embedding technology.
