SMARTRAC’s Solutions Suite Receives Award which Supports Latest Retail Trends

SMARTRAC’s Solutions Suite Smart Cosmos Receives 2018 Award for Consumer Experience Innovation

Based on its recent analysis of the RFID and IoT market, Frost & Sullivan has recognized SMARTRAC with its 2018 Europe Company of the Year Award for offering unique value through consumer experience innovation with its Smart Cosmos solutions suite.

Frost & Sullivan, a renowned business consulting firm that considers itself a ‘Growth Partnership Company’, presents its Company of the Year award to an organization that demonstrates excellence in terms of growth strategy and its implementation. Obviously, SMARTRAC fitted that bill: “With Smart Cosmos, SMARTRAC leaps ahead of competitors in the market”, states Ram Ravi, Industry Analyst at Frost & Sullivan. Fortunately, the RFID pacesetter also keeps perfect pace with the most important retail trends for 2018, as identified by FGRT (formerly Fung Global Retail & Technology).

Consumers Demand New Experiences and Rewards – ‘Experiences’ Delivers

Specializing in the ways retail and technology intersect, FGRT is a New York, London and Hong Kong based think tank that follows emerging retail and tech trends and has just published its “18 Retail Trends for ’18” report. * It lists five key demands from consumers and retailers underpinning change in the retail industry in 2018. One of them is the consumer’s demand to be provided with life-improving services as well as new experiences and rewards from retailers, brands and tech firms – roughly a translation of what SMARTRAC’s Experiences solution promises and actually already delivers for several brands.

Driving Innovation for our Customers’ Benefit

“This award is a great honor and confirmation of our hard work and our ability to drive innovation for the benefit of our customers”, SMARTRAC’s CEO Christian Uhl said during the award ceremony. “While our traditional RFID markets are growing very healthily, we are making the utmost efforts to refine our Smart Cosmos solutions suite and provide business value through consumer experience innovation.”

Demonstrating Excellence

To receive the Frost & Sullivan Company of the Year Award requires a company to demonstrate excellence in growth, innovation, and leadership. This kind of excellence typically translates into superior performance in demand generation, brand development and competitive positioning. These areas serve as the foundation of a company’s future success and prepare it to deliver on two main criteria: visionary innovation & performance; and customer impact. This year’s award does not mark the first time Frost & Sullivan has honored SMARTRAC: back in 2012, the consulting firm lauded SMARTRAC for its ‘Competitive Strategy Leadership in the European RFID Market’.

*“18 Retail Trends for 2018”

According to this new report outlining the top 18 trends that will affect retail this year, retailers will have to meet new and more intense demands from within the industry and from consumers – who are characterized as “spoiled shoppers” by FGRT. In 2018, these shoppers are expected to switch more of their spending towards new and alternative formats and channels. At the same time, they will appreciate life-improving services as well as new types of interactions, rewards and experiences. On top of that, FGRT predicts that retailers will more closely collaborate with technology providers and leverage new technologies to make their supply chains faster and smarter. If FGRT is right – and its Managing Director Deborah Weinswig’s track record as a former top Wall Street and retail tech analyst supports the assertion – SMARTRAC has a lot to offer to retailers that accept this year’s challenges.
